Istanbul was an unexpected bonus destination for us when planning trips to both Greece and Alaska for weddings this summer. Discovering that flights from Athens to Seattle typically stop over in Istanbul, the opportunity for a 24-hour layover rather than the typical brief one was too good to pass up. Istanbul's architecture, food, and Euro club-style remixes of every popular song were all highlights.
